It is like half a year until Easter, but the new German effectiveness of this endeavour has pushed the webmaster to update something already now. I'll make this slightly prettier in the future, I promise. But the core thing is this: there will be a n00bcon 15, at Rotary Pub, during Easter 2024. The winner gets a Giant Shark. And Mishra's Factory will be restricted during the tournament, just to try it out. This doesn't mean that Factory will be restricted in Swedish 93/94 going forward, but simply that it will be fun to see what happens.
Update November 14: Accidentally had Shahrazade on the restricted list, that one is removed now as the card is no longer restricted. Thanks for the notifications! My goal was to update with the info I had on invites already today, but due to existential constraints you'll have to wait a few more days for that. But it is a similar drill to most previous years; all Shark holders are invited, and some community organizers from Sweden, USA, UK, Norway, France, Italy, Holland, Schweiz, Canada, Spain, Denmark, and Germany have been allocated slots to give out in their community. So slightly less nepotism compared to n00bcon 13, but still a lot of nepotism I guess.
Update November 18: Current state of slots and allocations are up in the Participants section. This is an early version, which I'm trying to sync with the other organizers as we speak, so it almost surely have some problems. If you see something wrong, feel free to e-mail me and I'll try to correct it. Ideally we'll have a final version before December. If your name is on the list, you're in (names will of course not be removed), but some tweaks on the numbers for the communities might still occur, and I've almost surely missed a name somewhere. Also, we were supposed to cut at 100, and there appears to be a bit over 100 names already, so I kinda hope I've made some double entries...
Update November 19: Minor fixes and updates on the Participants section. Verfied Urborg tournament Thursday and Wizards' Tournament Saturday during the Easter weekend.
Update Jan 30: The invites are mostly fixed now, stabilizing at 105 people at the moment. The last European will be decided in the near future via tournament prowess or good old nepotism. A few of the old Shark winners might not use their invites, so there's still some possibility that we'll get to cap at 100 players for that sweet, sweet leg room and breathing space. In case we go below 100, we'll have a waitlist that anyone can sign up to by e.g. clicking the mailbox at the bottom of this page.
In other news, this year's gear has arrived safe in gothenburg (a drinking flask), and Gordon Anderson has signed up for streaming coverage. There are also some solid rumors about a n00bcon beer brewing.
Update February 27: Back from an awesome Arvika Festival! Also some stupid regarding the Rotary Pub happened, as they've suddenly decided to rebuild the gymnasium connected to the Pub. Hence we sadly can't play there. We've booked Kolgruvan (see location below), which will hopefully work out well.
What: The 15th annual n00bcon, aka the oldest recurring oldschool Magic tournament in the world.
When: Good Friday 2024. Starting like 12:00 I guess.
Where: Rotary Pub at Richertsgatan 2, Gothenburg, Sweden. Kolgruvan at Kolgruvegatan 12, Ringön, Gothenburg. We had to change location just a month in advance due to construction work and new policies at Rotary Pub.
You can check out some more info about the site at the Kolgruvan home page
Participation: n00bcon 15 is an invitational tournament, so it is unfortunately not possible to sign up without an invitation from one of the community organizers. Due to space constraints, the tournament is capped at 100 115 players. If you have any questions about invites, feel free to post an e-mail to the the webmaster. The side event/other tournaments throughout the Easter weekend in Gothenburg will most likely be possible to join without prior arragements.
Prizes: The winner get a Giant Shark (The Dark). Top8 gets some sort of trophies. Some other rad things will probably be given out as well.

The main tournament will NOT be played for Ante; hence any cards that use the Ante mechanic are banned from being played.
Chaos Orb (2)

If Chaos Orb turns over completely at least once during the flip, and touches the chosen permanent, destroy that permanent. Then destroy Chaos Orb.
